Journey

Journey...

Set out from my home,
For a purposeful trip,
To places far away, to roam;
Where nature has its firm grip.

To go away, to go afar,
Places under the burning red star,
Going by foot, else by car
Upon the endless coal-black tar.

Journeying onto places anew,
Places full of glittering dew;
Places of joy, and of fun,
Everywhere, in short, under the sun.

Places of grief & Of sorrow,
Places where there's no tomorrow.
Here, the lamps of joy should be lit
Darkness will flee, bit by bit.

Take the land, or the air
Travelling with an elegant flair
By rail, or the endless road,
Taking with us a heavy load.

Past this vast expanse of endless land,
By the sea, or the sand
Free, free like the birds in the sky
Thoughtless, winged, while they fly.

The wingless clouds ushering above,
Peace flourishes, one white dove.
In my heart, a pool of bliss
Impatience, yet, continues to hiss.

Travel, to man, exposes the world
Tests his freedom, now unfurled,
Going away, going, now gone
NIghts ablaze, so is the dawn.

Freedom, so true, is tested now,
Wisdom awakes, is unclear how ?
Truth now bestows her wondrous gaze,
Challenges can now be stared at unfazed.

Travel does surely strengthen a man,
Shows him what to do, he surely can
Foot by foot, the world is measured,
Forever and ever will the journey be treasured.
