Don't Look Back

Don't Look Back

As you travel through life, there are always those times
When decisions just have to be made;
When the choices are hard and solutions seem scarce,
And the rain seems to soak your parade.

There are some situations where all you can do
Is to simply let go and move on,
Gather courage together and choose a direction
That carries you toward a new dawn.

So pack up your troubles and take a step forward-
The process of change can be tough,
But think about all the excitement ahead,
If you can be stalwart enough.

There could be adventures you never imagined
Just waiting around the next bend -
And wishes and dreams just about to come true
In ways you can't yet comprehend.

Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new interests
As you challenge your status quo,
And you learn there are so many options in life
And so many ways you can grow.

Perhaps you'll go places you never expected
And see things you've never seen -
Or travel to fabulous far-away worlds
And wonderful spots in between.

Perhaps you'll find warmth and affection and caring -
A "somebody special" who's there
To help you stay centered and listen with interest
To stories and feelings you share.

Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends
Are supportive of all that you do -
And believe that whatever decisions you make,
They'll be the right choices for you.

So keep putting one foot in front of the other,
And taking your life day by day.
There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road,
Don't look back, you're not going that way.

Friendly Love...

Friendly Love...

I was cold and hurting,
Lost out in the night,
Wandering and searching
For heaven's light.

I saw the night sky clearing,
When you spread your wings,
But little did I know,
What joy you would bring.

From that moment on,
A friendship did start.
You kissed away my tears,
And sheltered my heart.

I bless the day God,
Sent you from above,
But then I grew fearful,
For I had fallen in love.

I told you this feeling,
And what did you say?
You said you liked our friendship,
And that's how it would stay.

I cried for a friendship, I thought I had lost,
But then felt your warm, gentle hand.
You then whispered in my ear,
That by my side you'll forever stand...

I Sight...

I Sight...

What does it feel to not see the golden sun,
Its rays piercing through every silver cloud,
Missing spectacles like rivers and lakes which effortlessly run,
Or the levels to which trees could grow, if allowed.

How would it be to not see the deer's love for its fawn,
The sight of a calf quenching its thirst,
To be unable to see black nights and enlightening dawns,
To not see the race, droplets of rainwater take, to reach the earth first!

To be blind to the sights of birds flying freely in the blue sky,
To miss a seedling's struggle to ascend upwards in the air,
To not see colours in full bloom in the Spring, oh my!
To not possess the gift of sight to see Nature's angry glare.

To not fathom the whiteness of milk & the blackness of ink,
To not comprehend myriad and vivid hues,
To simply contrive images in the mind, scenes simply to think,
To subject everything to imagination, just letting the mind loose.

For black is the only colour, warping and veiling life,
Always being in the shadows, always seeking a helping eye,
To only feel, never to see, every moment dipped in strife,
Life becomes a painting in the monotone, a seemingless lie.

Yet, fortunate are those who are blind, in a way,
To be impervious of the scenes of crime,
Of blood and bone, torn apart by violence, as they lay,
Of faces forgotten and obliterated by time.

Of Nature's fury unleashed by wave or in the air,
Of those buried by the shaken earth, alike,
Of those perished due to Nature's angry flares,
Of those who passed into the void because of stone and pike.

Fortunate indeed are they, who do not see the grey vicious shades in man,
To be blind to meaningless, virtuousless debauchery,
To not witness ruthless atrocities as they can
Change the very meaning of humanity, such treachery.

So those with sight, remain grounded and human,
And always extend your helping hands,
For sight is one of God's greatest gifts to man,
So help others by all means, whenever you can!

The sightless will always find someone willing to aid,
A helping hand, a seeing eye or a patient ear,
For then, the journey of life will be easier to tread,
Then, easily can they traverse, year after year!

I Could...

I Could

I could write you a letter,
But what would it say?
Could it make things better?
Would it make everything okay?

I could write you a song,
Full of love hope and grace.
Would you tell me what went wrong?
Could you say it to my face?

I could make a telephone call,
And listen as you cried
But I would not let you fall,
And if you did, we'd both know I tried.

I could make the world go away
But would that be what you like?
You would miss the golden sunrays
You would miss the moonlight.

I could stop all this pain
Bring it all to an end
The tears would fall like rain
On the shoulder of a dear friend.

I Won't Cry

I Won't Cry

You see the pain that lies in my eyes,
But, alas, my eyes are dry,
I won't cry.
No, I won't cry.

You see the anger that burns from my gaze,
The madness that sets my eyes ablaze,
I won't cry.
No, I won't cry.

You see the fear that closes my eyes,
The smile I wear is but a disguise,
I won't cry.
No, I won't cry.

You see the hope that is finally dead,
I cannot trust for my heart has been bled,
I won't cry.
No, I won't cry.

You see the love that lies within,
But I shall never love again,
I won't cry.
No, I won't cry.

You see death's hand that has glazed my eyes,
No one saw me die inside,
I won't cry.
No, I won't cry.
